Syllabus of GMAT Exam

A high GMAT score can open the doors of the most renowned business schools in the world. This standardized exam is accepted by all the top-ranking business schools. Four sections of the GMAT Exam Syllabus

An applicant can earn up to 800 points on the GMAT, which lasts for three and a half hours. It rates the candidate's skills according to a number of criteria. The section-by-section syllabus is listed below:

1. Analytical Writing Assessment

a. Argument Essay- These focus on analyzing any argument or reasoning, followed by the presenting of the candidate's own justification.

2. Integrated Reasoning

a. Table Analysis- This assesses candidates' capacity to examine and arrange tables with certain data.

b. Two-Part Analysis- This measures a candidate's aptitude for tackling complicated problems. They could be verbal, numerical, or even both.

c. Multi-Source Reasoning- The capacity of candidates to assess data from diverse tables and sources, written passages, and graphics will be evaluated.

d. Graphics Interpretation- Candidates will be graded on their ability to analyze data presented in graphical visuals such as graphs and pie charts.

3. Quantitative Reasoning

a. Data Sufficiency: Candidates must examine quantitative problems, pinpoint crucial information, and decide what information is required to solve difficulties. Here, topics like Elementary Algebra, Geometry, Ratio Proportions, Arithmetic, Exponents and Roots, Integers and Their Properties, Linear Equations, and Permutation and Combinations are covered.

b. Problem-Solving: Candidates must use logic and analytic thinking strategies to solve problems.

4. Verbal Reasoning

a. Critical Reasoning: The ability to assess and develop arguments while developing strategies or action plans is tracked in this section..

b. Reading Comprehension: Candidates must exhibit the capacity to draw conclusions, comprehend the relationships between key ideas, comprehend statements and words, and follow the development of quantitative concepts. Application, inference, core concept, logical structure, style, and idea support are all aspects of reading comprehension.

c. Sentence Correction: Grammar and sentence structure correction will be covered in this section. In this section, it will be crucial to consider factors such as subject-verb agreement, rhetorical sentence building, hidden passages, spotting faults, countable and uncountable, improperly positioned modifiers, and parallelism.

The GMAT exam is quite straightforward, taking 3 hours and 7 minutes to complete. It incorporates Multiple-Choice Questions, with no negative marking and a variable cut-off based on the college being applied to. A score of 690 and above is viewed as positive.
